It’s Friday the 13th.
The world’s in turmoil. My heart goes out to all those suffering and dying because of seemingly intractable problems.
Also, as I write this, the WGA has settled a long fought strike, and its membership has voted to accept the deal that its leadership has negotiated. Dampening the celebration of this victory is the fact that the CEOs of the largest studios in the world — instead of also ending the strike with SAG-AFTRA — got up and walked out of negotiations after offering LESS to the actors than before the actors’ strike began.
One of the sticking points in the actors’ strike (and the WGA strike) is the use of artificial intelligence. So I have to ask: Don’t you think, given the state of the world, we need some real intelligence?
Yes, we do. And real intelligence is the ability to search for and discern the truth.
In making The C.I. movie that’s what we’re going to do — discern the truth about a specific situation involving three main characters, Linda, Erica, and Cal. All of whom are struggling with the different ways drug addiction has invaded their lives.
We need this now. We need this story now. We need stories that tell the truth. We need stories that tell the truth about what we’re doing to each other.
